As you likely know the CA Valley is an amazing place that everyone should see firsthand at least once in their life. There are of course al lot of places that one could make that statement about but few that would top that list in say the top 10.
What makes this area of the country and of California so special? Well just to name a few of the many here goes: It has been called the food bowl or the bread basket of the west coast by many more than just one person. The CA Valley is an enormous fertile valley that spans the majority of the entire center of the state of California. To say it’s huge is an understatement actually. It is one of the largest valley’s found anywhere in the world and it is the single largest food growing agricultural valley in the world. There are some extremely well know city’s and sub areas and even sub valleys that make up many separate parts of this incredible basin. There are many, many more that we won’t list here because of space (yes we know that this is the web and so space is not really a problem but we don’t want this to turn into war and peace)here are just a few, and we really mean just a few. Bakersfield Tulare, Fresno, Hilmar, Kern, Lodi, Manteca, Merced, Modesto, Oakdale, Sierra, Stanislaus, Stockton, Tulare, Turlock, Vacaville, Wonder Valley, Yosemite-Sierra and Yuba.
There are so many things to do and places to see in this huge basin that one could get lost just looking at the list. Some of my personal favorites are: exploring the wine country regions of the valley. I love a good glass (no actually I prefer a bad glass- just kidding) of a semi sweet Merlot that is grown both in this region and in Romania. In fact virtually every style of wine that I am fond of can be found somewhere in a the CA Valley or Napa Valley. That is to say with the exception of one a good Tanat which currently only grows in the very south of France near its border with Spain and in the little South American country of Uruguay. But that just goes to show you and to illustrate my point. It takes a very obscure wine to even be able to find something this area of the country does not produce yet.
Yes The CA Valley is a place where you can find so many things to do it boggles the mind and on any one of them you can even go on a tangent like I did because it is so rare for this area of the country to not have already excelled in something agricultural that it becomes worth mentioning. Yes, this is just one of those areas you really should see and this area is also loaded with fantastic bed and breakfasts that you can use to comfort your journey.
