Basic checks you could make to minimise any risks include:
* Checking the bottom conditions. E.g. Could be the foundation firm, rather than soft? If london scaffolding is erected on frozen ground, this might melt and begin to sink.
Would be the * scaffold level and supported on proper adjustable stands.
* If it is just a rolling scaffold, include the castors locked?
Almost any * scaffolding will be able to support as much as four times its intended load.
* The platform will have to be complete side-to-side and side to side. Any planking or decking mustn’t have gaps above 25mm (1%u201D).
* Toe boards and guardrails have to be positioned on all open sides.
* All sections of scaffolding have to be secured or pinned appropriately.
* Safe entry to the scaffolding have to be provided which pun intended , the must climb over cross bracing. This is often a properly secured ladder.
Your * front face of any scaffolding needs to be 350mm (14%u201D) on the workface.
* Electrical wires should be given the right electrical safety clearance.
* All scaffolding must be inspected by a competent person before used.
* If the scaffolding has ended 3m (10%u2019) high, personal fall protection should be provided or scaffold must have handrails over 950mm (38%u201D) high.
* Anyone working near the scaffolding or within the scaffolding must wear a hard hat (in the united kingdom it can be compulsory to deliver head protection/ hard hats on any site).
